worthing. 9:00 o’clock, cloudy, rain is falling down, but only a few drops, you wouldn’t even feel them if i didn’t have mentioned it.
my colleague and me walked along the pier and took some pictures. we were in the mood for shopping and chilling this morning, so we headed to the center of worthing (by the way 108.000 population, more than klagenfurt but quite a bit more retirees), but we walked very slowly because she took about 700(!!) pictures. when we finally arrived we recognized that there was something different going on. worthing market, more retirees (calm), more rednecks (loud). more fun. at first we spent about half an hour in a coffeeshop named costa, where i had a green tea and a delicious cheese and mushroom toast, then we joined the marketlife. i bought lots of greek food and chicken sweet sour for lunch. meanwhile my colleague tried to find some clothes, but i could convince her that british people do not have style so she should better buy this at home. she believed me. good.
afterwards we collected the kids at school and went bowling. we had a lot of fun in the bowling hall, because the students had to give me their phones and so they talked to each other. at the beginning i played really well but then i lost my nerves and my pole position. raphaello won, but his win had a bitter taste because he destroyed the lane with his strong throws, so that i couldn’t hold my perfect game any longer. but this might only be my point of view 🙂
the rest of the afternoon we were hanging around at starbucks and the pier, playing stupid games talking and laughing a lot.
at the evening some kids, my colleague and me had diner together at fiordilatte – remember? – where some of the students might have eaten the best pizza in their entire lifes.
for me it was one of the best days during this trip, allthough, some might say, there was no real program. but that’s the point. i could spend some time with the kids; joking and fooling around with them, talking to them and getting to know them a little bit better – and that is in my opinion the most valuable thing when you are at a final adventure with your class.
at the end i would like to notice that allthough my last english text is more than a decade ago my abilities in this language are pretty well, so if you don’t understand anything, it is your fault 🙂 have a nice day!
ps: the screen is lava…
